Oh, September. I have no idea where this post will lead us. Hopefully, somewhere good.

First and foremost, after a year and a half of brainstorming, outlining and writing, I’m ecstatic to announce that The Book is back in the hands of my editor. This journey has been one of self-discovery and deep, deep love. Sometimes scary. Sometimes uncomfortable. But fully, blissfully worth it. To think that this work is only a fraction of what is to come! It’s overwhelming–usually in a good way.

Has anyone seen The Circle? I just finished the book and heard that the movie ends differently. Is that true? On one hand, I want closure, and on the other, I’d like to bury myself in Permanent Record and never come out. Mary H. K. Choi’s latest novel released last week, and I still haven’t had a chance to dive in. I can’t wait.

In trying to avoid holding my breath until my characters return to me, I decided to embark on #ywaREBIRTH. I’ve been practicing yoga six days a week for the last few months, so why not aim for 30 days in a row, right? Unless, of course, you’ve moved your meditation practice to 3:30 AM every day. Then, you might miss a Saturday morning session. Maybe. How would I know? *yawns*

And in other news, I got my hair chopped off again (after the photo above was taken). I always manage to hack a few inches off when something big changes. High school graduation, Praxis graduation, one massive round of edits completed. At that point, everyone’s thoughts go straight to getting a haircut, right? Right. (Also, to whomever it may concern: Spray gel stains.)

I have a couple of writing projects in the works this week, but otherwise, I’m loading up on content. I’m aiming to make it through another five books this year, at the very least, and there are always podcast episodes waiting for me. Currently listening to Neighbors, and I’m obsessed.

As always, if there’s something you’d like to collaborate on, let me know here. September is the perfect month for new beginnings, don’t you think? And I’m always happy to hear from you. xo
