Author Coaching

So, you noticed that humanity is a mess—a wild, beautiful, tragic, perfect mess.
And you want to write a book about it. Because you have to do something to help. Whether you consider yourself a writer or not has ceased to matter. Your story is keeping your mind in a constant state of “Oh, write that down,” and your heart singing, “Yes, yes! This is good!”
Maybe you want to write a book for someone you love.
Maybe that person is you.
Either way, since this idea will not leave you alone, you need a guide to light the way forward.
“A guide?” you say. “Can’t I just… sit down and write?”
Absolutely. You can put pen to paper (or fingers to keys) and scribble the months (or years) away. That’s what I did. I started drafting my first novel when I was 12 and finally published it when I was 24.
But you don’t need to get stuck on your project for over a decade. You can learn from my experience—mistakes and all.
Allow me to introduce myself.

I’m Aquinnah, and I love helping people find the confidence to write.
Since 2022, I’ve been coaching authors of all ages, helping them develop their stories, clarify their arguments, and choose the strongest words to express themselves.
I’m also a ghostwriter with 15+ books under my belt. It can be fun to bring other people’s stories to life, but nothing is quite so satisfying as guiding another author to their ah-ha moments.
In other words, I could write your book for you, but I’d rather help you write it yourself.
Over the years, I’ve discovered a variety of tools and techniques to turn an idea into a draft and a draft into a publication-ready manuscript. In working with me, my clients learn:
- What makes an idea or story worth sharing
- How to avoid the dreaded “crap draft”
- The chapter structures that keep readers turning pages
- What to do when you feel stuck
- How to revise your work without losing your mind
- And, yes, much more
In a world dominated by AI slop, it takes real courage to brainstorm, outline, draft, revise, and publish your own book.
But you can do it, can’t you?
That’s why you’re here.

Working with an author coach might sound intimidating, but it’s actually liberating. All those nagging questions you have about not being good enough? All the uncertainty you face around style and structure? That OH, GOD, moment you have every time you consider telling a vulnerable story?
Your writing does not have to keep you up at night. Take a deep breath. If you’re going to do this, you might as well enjoy it.
Let’s face the confusing, surprising, and straight-up scary parts together. And let’s make it FUN.
As your author coach, I will help you align your efforts with your goals. I will lead you through each stage of the writing process—one step at a time. I will read each of your chapters and provide real-time feedback. And when I’m done, your book will still sound like you. Almost like I was never there!
Because your book is yours. I’m just here to make it more yours.
I started coaching because I was asked by a colleague whom I respect to do so. But these days, I do it because I love it. I am an Enneagram 1. I noticed this wild, beautiful, tragic, perfect mess of a world and realized I can help by doing what I do best.
By sorting out the details and caring for my people.
If you are ready to take your writing, your dream, and maybe even your self-respect to the next level, I would love to connect with you.
Lola Allgyer wasn’t just looking for an editor. She was looking for the accountability that comes with having a coach in your corner. This is what she had to say about working with me:
“Editor doesn’t begin to describe the experience of working with Aquinnah. I trust her with my entire creative process: brainstorming, playing devil’s advocate to my arguments, reviewing each draft, and honing the final project. Hands down, if I want to complete a writing project, I want Aquinnah involved.”
*blubbering* It is an honor and a privilege to work with authors like Lola.
If you…
- Intend to write a book without AI-generated content
- Can feel a story living and breathing inside you
- Get excited when thinking of all the humans your book will touch
- Feel like the writing and publishing process is strangely mysterious
- Are SUPER FREAKING NERVOUS to just START
… fam. You are not here by accident. Nothing is an accident.
I want to connect with you. Let’s make your vision of your book a reality. You have waited long enough.
Yes, you. That detail you’re obsessing over? The one that’s stopping you from moving ahead? You do not need to fix that thing before contacting me. Become unburdened. Let’s share the weight of this book. People need it!!!
Every author is different. Every book is different. But here are a few things you can always expect from me:
- A free intro session with no strings attached
- An overview of the writing process, from brainstorming session to completed draft
- Space to share ALL your ideas, even if they don’t end up in your book
- The best outline structure for your working style
- Chapter-by-chapter feedback to strengthen your writing
- Regular video calls on a timeline and budget that works for you
- Clearly articulated action items to keep you motivated and moving forward
Are you ready?
I know working with a stranger feels super awkward, so allow me to break some more ice. I promise, I am the least scary, most niche-ly nerdy person on the internet.
Back in 2018, I completed a professional bootcamp with Praxis, an apprenticeship program for young people who are ready to launch thriving professional careers on their own terms.
Since then, I have had the great fortune of writing for two award-winning podcasts, The Story and Mission Daily, as well as running Mission’s Medium publication. I then doubled down to create my own copywriting business, contributing to promotional efforts for FEEcon, among other blogs and newsletters. The first time someone sent me a book for editing, I almost puked, I was so happy. And then, I started ghostwriting for CEOs and founders.
In other words: I have seen a thing or two.
But the real reason I think you would enjoy working with me?
I am an author, too.
I have been through this big, scary, wonderful process with an editor whose wisdom I sincerely value. I know what it is to be on the receiving end of manuscript feedback. And I know what makes it bearable.
Not just bearable. Exciting.
